For what am I registering? You are registering for the 2016 Zips Showcase Camp. Registration for the 2016
Queen of Diamonds Showcase North (QDSN) can be completed at (this is a separate event).

Who can register? This camp is designed for 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 graduates looking to show off their skills to
college coaches.

Who will instruct the camp? The camp will be instructed by the UA Coaching staff and 30+ top college coaches.
The camp provides the opportunity for you to showcase your skills to over 100 coaches from around the country
who attend to recruit!

Where is the camp being held? The camp will be held in the Stile Athletics Field House, 289 South Union Street,
Akron, OH 44325. A campus map can be found at

How can I ensure I get a spot? Camp registration will be determined on a first‐come‐first serve basis. No places
will be held and all participants must register online. A confirmation will be sent via email after registration and
payment are received. Please keep a copy of your confirmation!

What happens once a session is filled? Once a session is filled, a waiting list of 15 people will be available per
session. If the session you would like to attend is full and you are unable to attend another session, please use
the Showcase Waiting List to reserve your place for openings.

How will I know I am in? Confirmation emails will be sent out once you are registered and have made payment.
Please keep a copy of your confirmation email. Please be sure your email is entered correctly.

How will I receive important information about the camp? Information, including your participant number and
final schedule will be sent via email. All camp correspondence will be completed via email. Please be sure your
email is entered correctly when registering.

How does the waiting list work? All registrants on the waiting list must pay the session fees upon registering. All
fees, minus a $10.00 processing fee will be refunded for those who do not receive a spot in the camp.

What happens if I register and then cannot make the camp? Your camp fee, less $25 non‐refundable
administrative fee, will be refunded without question if you cancel at least 7 days in advance. At any time after
that date, a refund less the $25 administrative fee will be made for medical reasons only and must be
accompanied by a signed medical statement from your physicians. If no request is made before camp begins, NO
refund will be given, including no‐shows.

How will I know if I secure a spot in a session from the waiting list? To confirm you have been added to a
session from the waiting list, you will receive a confirmation email stating what session in which you have
secured a spot.

How will attending the recruiting session benefit me? Recruiting information sessions will be presented by
college coaches from different divisions along with former student‐athletes. Sessions are designed to provide
student‐ athletes and parents with an understanding of the recruiting process. Discussion topics will include
academic/eligibility rules and regulations, recruiting rules, recruiting and academic timelines, differences and
similarities in divisions, recruiting rules and regulations, timelines, scholarships, etc. Parents may attend with an
athlete registered for the recruiting sessions OR parents can register without a student‐athlete.

Who will catch me during the pitching session? All pitchers MUST bring their own catcher for the pitching
session. All catchers MUST register online.

What do I need to bring? Pitchers must bring a ball and a catcher (all catchers must register online to complete a
liability waiver). Hitters must bring a bat, helmet and tennis shoes. Fielders must bring a glove and tennis
shoes. Catchers must bring catching equipment and tennis shoes.

What else do I need to know?

  • All sessions will take place in the Stile Athletics Field House.
  • Check in will take place in the Stile Athletics Field House Lobby.
  • Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your first session for check in.
  • Participants should bring all necessary gear (glove, helmet, bat, tennis shoes).
  • Participants must wear tennis shoes – no cleats may be worn in the Stile Athletics Field House
  • Each participant will receive a camp color coded T‐shirt to designate her graduating class along with at number tag for easy recognition by college coaches.
  • Parking is available in the lot behind the field house and in all lots surrounding InfoCision Stadium. Click the “Maps” tab for a direct link to a UA campus map.
  • DO NOT PARK in the fire lane between the Stile Athletics Field House and Lee Jackson Softball Field. YOU WILL BE TICKETED AND TOWED.

All University of Akron Zips Softball camps or clinics are open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender).
